Volume: 1 mL
Physical State: Liquid
Buffer: Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS)(pH 7.2), sodium azide (0.02%, w/v) (as an anti-microbial agent).
Production Notes: Eggs from at least 20 chickens were purified from the yolks using a proprietary method that yields a purity of >90%. The IgY fraction was then dialyzed against phosphate-buffered isotonic saline. Sodium azide was then added and the preparation was filter-sterilized (0.45 μm filter).
Antibodies were analyzed by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Heavy chains (80 kDa), truncated heavy chains (40 kDa) and light chains (25 kDa) were found to make up >95% of the Coomassie-stainable material.
Store at 4°C in the dark. Under these conditions, the antibodies should have a shelf life of at least 12 months (provided they remain sterile). For longer storage periods, dilute the antibodies with sterile glycerol and store at -20°C. Do not freeze these antibodies unless you want to store them for longer periods of time.
