Host Species: Goat
Species Reactivity: Chicken
Immunogen: IgY
Physical State: Liquid

Buffer: Sodium phosphate (10 mM, pH 7.2) buffered isotonic saline (0.9%, w/v), sodium azide (0.02%, w/v) (as an anti- microbial).
Specificity: Does not cross-react with mammalian IgGs
Production Notes: Goats were immunized with purified chicken IgY (whole protein) emulsified in Freund’s adjuvant. After multiple injections, goats were bled and serum collected. Antibodies were isolated using affinity chromatography and conjugated to biotin via a 6-carbon spacer.
Antibodies were analyzed using immunoelectro-phoresis and a sandwich ELISA using HRP-labeled streptavidin. In this latter test, a 1:500,000 dilution was found to generate an O.D of 1.0 in a 30 minute reaction with tetramethylbenzidine as the substrate.
Store at 4°C in the dark. Under these conditions, the antibodies should have a shelf life of at least 12 months (provided they remain sterile). For longer storage periods, dilute the antibodies with sterile glycerol and store at -20°C. Do not freeze these antibodies unless you want to store them for longer periods of time.
